Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) submission in South Africa, which is a mandatory annual requirement under the Skills Development Act for employers paying the Skills Development Levy (SDL). This typically applies to companies with an annual payroll over R500,000, and submitting the WSP (along with the Annual Training Report or ATR) allows you to claim back a portion (usually 20%) of your levy as a mandatory grant.
The submission window for the 2026/2027 period is now open (generally from early February).
The deadline for most Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) is 30 April 2026 at 23:59 (midnight).
No extensions are usually granted for late, incomplete, or inaccurate submissions—many SETAs explicitly state this.
